Desecration, ravage, and abomination. In the early part of the millenia, the Expanse seemed to call to life, fell and wanton. In this time an army massed for war in another place and time crossed during a massive storm through the gateway formed by the Dancers. Upon finding unguarded, verdant land they set about possession and destruction. Heading north through the far reachs of the Fangstones they killed what few villagers and farmers they found, slaughtered livestock, and burned as they went.
About the same time a legion of mercenaries had entered the realm, searching as well for easy prey and lands. Lead by Astar DarkShield, they were intent upon the same object as was the darkling horde. This constituted a joining of forces and an eventual singling out of Smat and Tsargin for full battle. A choice they would regret.
