The Nightfires
As the Fangstones settled in from there tumultuous creation, geographical formations we wont to form. No rivers, no tectonic action had dictated chasms, or ravines. Instead the settling magic focused or dispelled in areas giving birth to unusual results. Once such place was the NightFires. Large concentrations of naturally occurring phosphors gave rise to perpetual illumination along the walls of a series of canyons in the north central arms of the FangStone. And as the snows colaesced on the peaks, and began the seasonal cycle of freeze and thaw, natural waterfalls formed at the far end of the deepest valley. Here pools formed in natural basins at the foot of them. the flow from the precipice down into the pools gave the effect of a moving sheet of coldfire ever alight in the deep. The, now illumened, waters travelled down to the joining of 3 major canyons and then out to the plains beneath FangStone. The central of these canyons was large enough to accomodate a series of high meadows and one large central plain. Here eventaully was built AutumnStone. So the Story of the Rings is told, by the hand of Lansyter 3rd of the Five, with annotations by the Awake. ...Return to the Archives © TTR Group 1993-2003 |
