The survival of the Realm looked bleak after the destruction of FirstCity. The Rings wrought havoc in their imbalance, and the very lifes of the Five, invested in the Land, Waned. It became chillingly clear that either fewer remained or all died.

Lansyter, determined that death would be as sdisruptive as the current situation, so Sleep became the answer.

Some years passed as the Sleeping Crypts were prepared, talisman were properly assembled, and the debate of who must remain awake raged.

Eventually a Lottery   was the unanimous decision. 5 Stones drawn from a spinning vortex, the first 3 slept, the last 2 remained awake for 3000 years, this period identified as 1 turning.

At first a loathsome task, Smat and Tsargin were saddled with it for 2 turnings. It was suspected probability manipulation occurred at the hands of the 3 sleepers, thus insuring a long peaceful rest. But as time passed awake became coveted as the realm healed and flourished.

Indeed by virtue of dreams the sleepers touched those awake, sampling the world vicariously, and soon became envious.

Thus ensued a battle of wills with each Turning, and a lengthening of the Awakening from a Fortnight to an entire Season.

Each awakening saw a feast and frolic each year of major porportions. As dwellers came into the realm, then eventually forged an alliance that prevailed upon the Five to "TAKE IT ELSEWHERE", and the Barrowsmire became the recquisite locale.

Magick was blocked by mutual consent, never again to unleash the desecration of the first age. Disagreements were resolved by Drink, simply put:

	Solve the argument by drinking until:
	- the original reason was forgotten
	- one of the parties passed out, argument over
	- the two parties resolved
	- the two parties passed out
