Bio Info:

Stev

Stephen was born in the year 1261 AD His parents, Cynan and Elizabeth were the king and queen of Powys, a territory in the country of Wales. A year and a half after his birth, Henry VII, King of England decided to seize control of Wales by attacking the closest territory to England, Powys. King Cynan gave decided to send Stev to Birmingham, England with a nanny to watch over him and he left Stev's newborn brother, Llywelyn at the castle so his mother could provide for him. Cynan thought that he might keep at least one son alive if Powys were to fall.

For three years, the battle between Henry and Cynan ensued. Stev's nanny found a small cottage to raise him in, but as her health got worse, so did Stev's chances of survival. The nanny would put Stev to bed with a story of his family in Wales so that he would never forget who he was. As Stev's nanny grew sicker, a man named Robert McCullen helped care for Stephen. Six months before the war was to end, Stev's nanny died and Robert took Stev under his wing. Robert was a common man with very few skills. He was a carpenter by trade and hoped to teach his newly adopted son, Stephen his ways. But, like all things in the world, Robert died and left Stev alone without family at the age of ten. Stev was left to fend for himself and learned how to steal food to survive. He never stole property, only what he needed to live on.

For years Stev lived life on the edge, always in fear of his life and always looking for a way to cheat death. He managed fairly well until a fateful day at the age of 20 years, when he was caught steeling an apple from a noble's apple tree. The man had him sent to jail and the next day he was stripped and whipped publicly. Stev turned his back on the British and their ways and traveled west to find comfort. He first found The Red Dragon Inn.

From the looks of RDI, it was a common inn, but when he entered, he discovered he was mistaken. Lords, ladies, knights, and nobles filled the inn. Stev panicked and tried to hide from everyone. A knight named Sir Llywelyn Silverhand offered him a seat at a table with him and a man named Colossus. These two men befriended Stev and tried to show him that no harm would come to him. After a while, Stev and Lew exchanged their life stories and Stev told Lew about the bedtime stories his nanny would tell him. These stories coincided with Lew's family life and they soon realized that they were brothers.

Stev decided to move to Powys Castle with Lew, and Lew promised to fill him in on how he had lost his hand and the kingdom at the same time. Stev grew in fighting skill, but had no respect for people who looked down upon him. He had a rudeness to his attitude, where Lew had a fiery temper, set off at the tiniest thing. Stev could not stand it anymore and left Lew to stay at the Blue Fox Inn. Here he met Natilena, an Elven Dragon Warrior.

He became a good friend with this Elven woman. She taught him how to use a sword and showed him a kindness never shown to him before.

One day, while in RDI, Stev had the misfortune of meeting Eric Dreadstar and mouthed off to this man when he should have kept his mouth shut. Stev, tired of arguing with the man, spit on his shoes and turned his back on him. The man brought out his crossbow and demanded Stev apologize or die. After many debates, Stev apologized, but Eric shot him in the shoulder anyway. Colossus removed the arrow and stopped the bleeding, but Stev went to Natilena for advice. Nat made him take off his shirt and let her heal the wound with healing salve. It was at his point that Stev declared his love for her. From that night on, Stev stayed the nights at the Blue Fox Inn.

While he stayed there, his love for Nat grew deeper and he learned the ways of self defense. After a few months, Stev and Nat wed each other. It was not long after that Lew married and asked Stev to be his best man. After the reception, A messenger came with a notice that Lew and Stev were to report to battle the next day. Nat promised Stev she would help in any way she could. She sent with him a vial, to heal him if he were mortally wounded. She also petitioned the Dragon council and they supplied dragons to help the war effort. Stev and Lew teamed up and became sword brothers. Together they attacked a rouge camp and set fire to the chieftain's tent, burning him alive.

Edward was outraged at this and sent Ingram to exact his revenge. Ingram, son of Edward, surprised the camp one night and took Stev prisoner. He knocked Stev unconscious and shot Lew in the side for interfering. Ingram took Stev to a tower in Powys castle and kept him drugged so he could not escape or fight back.

A messenger Dragon followed Stev's captures and watched over Stev. When he was coherent, Stev would write letters to Nat and give them to the dragon. Ingram questioned Stev about Lew's plans at the crack of a whip. Stev was beaten daily and whipped until he could no longer stand, but he never turned on Lew. A few weeks into Stev's torture, Ingram caught Stev handing a message to the dragon. Ingram flew into rage and broke Stev's arms so he could not write and he went to meet Natilena in Rivendell.

Ingram caused Natilena pain by tormenting her and gloating about the capture of her husband. When Nat told Ingram that she had a son to carry on Stev's line, he again, flew into rage and threatened to kill Stev. Nat never got any more messages from Stev and thought him dead. Ingram took Stev and moved him to Northern Scotland. Ingram's bard, Orinthar, had grown fond of Stev and sent word to his friends to save Stev's life. The druids united to save Stev and after attacking the caravan took him to their worshiping place within the ring of stones.

For the most of the war, Stev was healed and taught in the ways of the Druids by an elderly Druid Master named Cogline.

He was a Druid from another time. Stev was taught these ways and sent to infiltrate Edward's forces by pretending to be one of them. He became a Dark Druid and roamed the countryside winning Edward's approval through false stories of valor. Nat thought him dead and when this happened, her heart died within her, making her cold and angry towards the world. Ermond was given to her brother and she went into hiding. When Lew reached the castle, Stev led the fight from the inside, and together they conquered Edward.

When Stev returned to Rivendell, Nat could not be found. He searched for many weeks before finally finding her. When he did, she thought him a ghost, and would not allow him near her. It took a while to convince her that he was alive, but the truth won out. She would still have nothing to do with him, until he promised to give her back her life through a risky procedure known as heart transference. He would split his heart and they would each have half of his heart. Cogline knew of this art, and offered his services. After the operation, Nat's body began to grow younger until she was 92 years old. The other 250 years did not register in her mind. She did not know Stev or anything that was going on. Because she received a human heart, her Elven body caused her to become younger. She could not believe that Stev was her husband. Now she was alive again, but still not married to Stev. It was not until he showed her the torc he wore around his neck, that she believed. She still would not accept him, but she believed.

Because Nat aged, her blood changed composition as well as her cells. They all became 92 years old. Because her blood flowed through her heart, it also flowed through Stev's and his blood also began to change.

Stev began to grow older, and older. The only thing keeping him strong enough to live were three Elfstones set in his Torc and his amulet the druids gave him to channel his powers. He remains strong, but the aging takes its toll on him. When the Mage, Julian tricked him into giving up his amulet, Stev cursed him and became over-run with hatred and would not recover. Cogline saw that he had failed the Druids test, so took him in for more training. Stev gave temporary control of the kingdom to Lew and Ermond stayed with him.

Stev was failing rapidly now. The magic that once kept him alive was tearing him apart. Cogline taught him the Druid's sleep and told him he must remain in this stasis until he was younger than when he had the heart operation. He did this and a little over a year later, he returned from the sleep, younger than Lew, but old enough to remember most of his life at RDI and Rivendell. He spent another year reading the Druid histories and becoming a druid who would replace Cogline after he left. Cogline sent him from Hearthstone then, saying he had other matters which needed dealt with, and there was little time left.

Stev returned to Rivendell, only to find out about Lew's past and that Lew had given Ermond to Eflow. Apparently, Ermond wandered off one day and was hauled off to a British boarding School, to prepare for his entrance into the British Military. Lew didn't find out until a day before Stev's return and Eflow had no legal guardianship over Ermond. Lew convinced Stev to leave Ermond there until a suitable home could be found.
