Title: Mist and Gersidi
Area: Storylines

Bio Info:

*She clears her throat.* "It is a long story...It begins in the Tombs of Gersidi. Know ye of them? They are a cursed place once inhabited by a clan of Vampires and other foul Undead. I was hired to venture there with a party of other adventurures, including my friend Alanis Delanos, by the Baron Von Critchen several years past. We were to recover an artifact called the Caldron of Obedience. It was there I first encountered Quentos Gersidi.

A young vampire, as vampires go. Handsome...Dark hair and eyes of the richest brown...Until he showed what he really was. Then they would glow red like a pair of hot embers! He charmed me, led me away from the others...he f-fed from me." *Her voice is touched by shame.* " I do not remember much from that experiance, only that I felt alive...Adored...So feminine and desired above all women, and.... when he ~bit~ me...*A shiver runs through her.* "Gods...It was the sweetest ecstasy.... But it was all a lie. All deception and illusion, just as all their charms are! He could have killed me, Embraced me...But he did not. Instead, he kept me as a blood-thrall. He loved art and beautiful things, and I was one of his 'treasures'....

Two days later, and just in time to save me from becoming Blood Bound to the fiend, Alanis led the party through the catacombs to find me, battling all mannor of horrid creatures and specters as they went! She rescued me. And for that I am ever greatful. It is then that I found Death Kiss, the sword that has saved and directed my life from that time forward. It is a Soul Drinker, a Rune Weapon of incredible powers. It was forged by the ancient Dwarves before the Time of a Thousand Magics to aid in the fight against the dreaded Old Ones and their Undead Minions. It has the ability to strike fear in the Undead and destroy them.

With her in my hands I ended up destroying nearly his entire Clan...As it turns out, Quentos was quite grateful for that. He hated his undead kin...His sisters especially...Anyway...Baron Von Critchen double crossed my party. We nearly all died in the explosion that rocked the Tombs as he tried to destroy it after recovering the Caldron. I've vowed that some day, I will reward him and his kin for that! Well, I believed all Gersidis were slain, but years later, I met QUENTOS once again, at an Inn called the Red Dragon...Ye can imagine my horror!...But with that horror came a fascination and a lust."

*Mist runs a nervous hand through her flamegold hair.* "Something in my blood called to him, because of that first time when he'd...bit me. But I faught the foul temptations as best I could....Quentos and I began a rivalry which spanned the years. He tried to Charm me again, but my Psionic powers had grown since our first encounter in the Tombs...One I remember still...Not the details as I've said, but the PLEASURE...The glorious pleasure..." *She sighs wistfully. Then clears her thoat.* "I hated him for making me want him! For making my blood cry out for him every time I saw his red eyes glowing out at me from the shadows..." *She gazes to the shadows even now. Then seems to shrink in on herself.* "Finally, on a tepid summer eve I nearly gave in to my desires. He had shown a side of himself I was intrigued by on our previous meeting...Kindness. Someone came into the Red Dragon, a soldier, near to death. I spent all my energy bringing the poor man back from the brink of death, and when I passed out, Quentos carried me to my room and left me safe to rest.

The next night he unexpectedly teleported me to his Haven in the ruins of the Tombs of Gersidi. He'd made a portion into a warm and cozy study richly decorated with tapestries and fine furnitures. It had been well lit by fragrant candles. He had wine and chocolates...

He spoke to me for an hour, maybe more, maybe less. Just small talk, in that deep voice of his. His eyes were so expressive, so warm and brown...He had magiced himself to breathe and his breath was sweet, tangy and masculine...His hands were warm, and I imagined I felt his heart beating...I wanted to believe....I wanted to be fooled....If only for a night...I wanted ~him~. I wanted to cast my fears aside and surrender to my desires...To the Darkness!...Just once, oh, just ONCE..... In the end t'was only my fears that saved me, and made me flee before he had me...In every way.

The fact that I had buckled sent me into a frenzy, and I returned and ATTACKED Gersidi in the Tombs again. But Death Kiss had a curse at that time, one that I had been unaware of till she failed me during that battle. Quentos called on a Shadow Beast minion to fight me in his stead. And Death Kiss failed me. The Vampire had me dead to rights. I should be his Thrall now or long dead, or Undead...~But he spared me again~. Healing me and letting me go...He...he loved me." *She breathes, in almost a pleading way.* "In his heart, I ~know~ he did.........

Quentos was a Priest of the Death Cult of DragonWright, and the cult came down on him very hard for letting me go. They ordered him to seek me out and destroy me, or make me his Thrall to control for them, but instead, he QUIT the cult...For me...But as soon as he had, he realized what he'd given up, no longer having his death magics to work, and in his thirst for lost power, he requested the help of a creature named Douglas Hagen...He is a Wamphiri...Know ye of the Wamphiri? Fouler than normal Undead. Possessing no shred of goodness or decency! They are a leach like entity which attaches itself to the host's body, ultimately consuming his identity. But, granting power unimaginable!...Quentos became a Wamphiri." *She says it as if she states the day the world ended.*

"Power...Power is a drug. Quentos THOUGHT he could control the Leach, fight it, turn it into his minion... and for a short time, I thought he might...But again, their Dark world is based on deception and lies. And in the end, it consumed him and turned him on the truly Evil path. I knew then, that someday...someday, I must destroy him..." *Tears fall from those eyes...Tightly shut so that long, dark amber lashes hide the emerald treasure beneath them....* "And last year, I did."
