Area: Storylines

Bio Info:

Sir Llywelyn Silverhand Llywelyn was born in the year 1263 AD His parents, Cynan and Elizabeth were the king and queen of Powys, a territory in the country of Wales. Six months after his birth, Henry VII, King of England decided to seize control of Wales by attacking the closest territory to England, Powys. King Cynan gave decided to keep Lew in Wales and send his elder brother, Stephen, to Birmingham, England. He thought that he might keep at least one son alive if Powys were to fall.

Powys did not fall; instead it fought with all of its heart and soul and defeated the British king. Cynan sent couriers to Birmingham to find Stephen, but to no avail. He and his wife decided not to tell Lew anything about the war or Stephen. Instead, they brought him up as an only child and a future king. Lew learned the ways of a king, but deep in his heart was a thirst for battle, to become a warrior. His parents could not deny him his passion, for after his lessons, he would practice his fighting skills by hitting the gargoyles with but a stick. It was at the age of 9 that his parents gave in to him and sent him to Ynys Ski, warrior school for boys, in Northern Scotland on the condition that he would take the thrown at the proper time and use his skills for the good of the country.

Lew spent the next ten years at Ynys Ski under the personal teachings of Scatha, the Pen-Y-cat of Ynys Ski. He grew in knowledge and skill and fell in love with the prophetess, Goewyn, Banfaith of Ynys Ski. Goewyn, although she loved him, could not leave Ynys Ski and the two gradually grew apart. Lew came back to his homeland and spent his time honing his hunting skills. It was during a hunt that he met a wood elf, from the neighboring kingdom of Lorien, names Legothos. Legothos was a crafty elf who befriended Lew and helped him with his hunt.

Legothos was not only crafty, but a master of deception. Like all wood elves, he liked to tease people. Sir Legothos Greenleaf, a Knight in the Order of the Rose and the head warrior of Lorien convinced Lew that melding minds would give Lew a better grasp of battle techniques and make him a better warrior. Lew accepted but Legothos tricked him and transferred his Kartra to Lew and committed ritual suicide.

Lew awoke the next morning with two personalities fighting for control of his mind. He went to a hangout of Legothos' called The Red Dragon Inn. Here he met acquaintances (some would not call them friends) of Legothos: Eflow, Elspeth, Lady Jillian, Armegeddon Alexander, O'Brion Silvermane, Lady Literary, Lady Reshlyn, Flaime, Lord Draven, Lady Eilonwy, Lady Crimson, and Fedhaell. He made friends with these good folk, while beating down the Legothos personality fighting for control of his mind. While he was at this Inn, Maelweis, a messenger from King Edward I of Britain, came with word that Edward had sprung a surprise attack on Powys Castle to complete the job his father never did. Maelweis told him that all had perished in the attack and Lew was the only person standing between Edward and his prize.

Lew shoved all of the Legothos' personality down except for the fighting skills and fought Maelweis. After many hours of fighting, Lew won the battle, but at the cost of his left hand. Maelweis' sword had cut off Lew's hand and although Lew won the battle, Edward won the war, for the law stated that a blemished man can not be king. Lew gave up his homeland to Edward but remained in Powys Castle.

A few weeks later Lew was visited by an angel in a dream. In the dream, he was by a pool of water and an angel appeared to him saying, "There is healing in the water." Lew awoke the next morning and pondered this dream for weeks until as he was hunting, he came across a lake like the one in his dream. Lew stripped his clothing off and bathed in the water. When he came out, his stub had been replaced by a beautiful silver hand. This hand was as strong as iron, yet it was warm, and soft to the touch. It felt like a real hand with real skin on it. From then on, he became known was Llywelyn Silverhand.

With this new hand, Lew regained his dignity and his skill in swordsmanship. He vowed that one day he would avenge his family. He sought out Lord Draven and after some discussion, became a Knight of the Rose, like Legothos before him. For many months, Lew flirted with an Elven Dragon Warrior named Natilena. She was a strong woman and was quite a match for Lew. Although he cared for Natilena, no love could compare with his love for Goewyn. That is why, when Goewyn finally sought him out in Rivendell, he found he had to make a choice. After long thought and soul searching, he took Natilena aside and tried to explain to her why he could not love her. Why he had to marry Goewyn. Natilena could not understand the devotion Lew had to his TRUE love, and she left the inn and began attending the Blue Fox Inn, a sister-inn of Red Dragon Inn.

It was at this time that a frightened, paranoid commoner named Stephen McCullen began attending the RDI. Stephen had no home or family because he had been raised by a commoner like himself since he was a small boy. Stephen feared all nobles of the inn because of the disdain he had received from such in his home town. With the help of Lady Literary, Colossus and Lew, Stephen began to calm down and trust those of the inn. He had just escaped from a public whipping and would never return to England. Lew asked him of his past and found that he had been in the care of an elderly woman until he was four years old, then he was raised by a man from the street and taught how to survive as a commoner. Upon inquiry of Stephen's parents, Lew found that Stephen's "legend" of his parents fit the history of his parents. It was on this night that Lew and Stev discovered that they were brothers.

Lew taught Stev the ways of honor and nobility. Stev learned fast for by being the first born, he had to ability and passion to be a just king. Lew took Stev to his home in Powys Castle and told him of his adventures at both Rivendell and RDI. Stev could not stand Lew's temper, and moved in with his new friend Natilena. Shortly there after, Stev and Natilena wed. A few months after that, Lew declared his love to Goewyn in the gardens of Rivendell and they wed also.

Stev attended Lew's wedding as the best man, but Natilena refused to come. During the reception, a courier brought news of Lew and Stev's conscription to the Great War against England. Edward's power had grown strong in Powys and the other clans feared the same fate. They made Lew a general and Stev his advisor. Lew spent his wedding night with Goewyn, and the next morning, he left for war. -- There are many war stories, most greatly enhanced, but you must ask Lew about those yourself. -- One night, Lew and Stev came across a rouge camp of Edward's men. They hid and waited until nightfall, then silently killed the guards. Stev cut the head off of one guard as a gift to Natilena. Lew and Stev set fire to the chieftain's tent and burnt him alive. News of this incident spread to Warwick castle where the king sent his son Ingram to avenge the death of his nephew.

Ingram came by stealth into the camp and tore apart the tents until he found Stev. The two fought, but Ingram was awake and had he advantage of no knowledge of honorable combat. He knocked Stev unconscious and shot Lew in the side with a crossbow for trying to interfere. Lew called his good friend, Colossus to help him in the battle. The two of them fought their way to Warwick Castle. When they came to the Dee River, Lew took the East and Col took the West and together, they fought and won for many months, until finally they reached Dinas Warwick, a hill fort overlooking Warwick Castle.

Lew received word from a Druid that he would help their efforts, that all they must do is keep attacking from the outside for three days. On the third day, Lew and Col broke through the outer defenses and when they entered the castle, most of the soldiers lay dead on the ground. This Dark Druid had put a poison in the Community water and all those who drank from it died. The water was fed by a natural spring, so after two weeks, it was safe to drink again. But until then, they had to take control of the Castle. Lew, Col, and the Dark Druid made their way to the King's chambers and fought against those inside: King Edward, Ingram and Paladyr, the King's Protector. Col fought Paladyr and stabbed him through the chest. Lew fought Edward and the Dark Druid fought Ingram. Lew pinned Edward against the wall, and slit his throat. The Dark Druid pinned Ingram to the floor and held him there until he removed his hood and cut Ingram's head free of his body in the same movement. The face under the hood, was that of Stephen McCullen.

Lew returned to his wife, Goewyn and tried to get his life back to normal. Lew changed, though. He trusted no one and suspects treachery at every turn. His only love is for Goewyn, only she can soothe his fierceness. Lew was to be made Prime Minister of Wales soon, for his leadership skills and his training as a Paladin. When Lew, returned home, he didn't find Goewyn, but thought she might have gone to visit friends. A week passed, with no word. Lew sent Army to find word of his wife and he scoured the countryside. What he found, changed his life forever.

As he was walking along the road, he found the remains of a human body. "Goewyn" He whispered… He cradled her broken body. Her skirt was still pulled up from when she had been raped. He covered her then, looking at the milky white face, covered in blood. A deep cut ran the length of her neck and along the middle of her stomach. The umbilacle cord was hanging from her stomach, his unborn son at the end. Lew carried the bodies back to Powys castle, ignoring the stares this brought. He buried her beneath the gardens she loved so much. Army returned with a note. He said he went to thieves row and found
Lew's name written in blood on the wall, the note stuck in the wall with a dagger.

The note was in Goewyn's handwriting, begging his forgiveness. She had been lonely while he was gone and was wooed by Paladyr. She did not cheat on him, she resisted and they killed her for it. She only wanted to be close to another man and did not know how he could forgive her, but wished that he would. Lew crumpled the note, gave up his position and title as Paladin and went on a one man crusade to avenge Goewyn's death. For two years, he hunted Paladyr. Finally killing him. Paladyr's death did not cause the satisfaction he once thought and cursed himself for giving into temptation and breaking his vow. He spent over a year and a half in the woods, befriended by a woodsman named Turin. Finally, he returned to Powys Castle in hopes that he could reclaim some of his life.

The place had been over grown and it took months to clear. When it was repaired from the battles, Lew returned to Rivendell to search for a new life.
