Title: dustbunnie
Area: Characters
Bio Info:
To make matters quite
clear
straight from the
beginning, I, the writer, am not the dustbunnie
who will be
discussed on this page. She and I share a name and
face, a history even, true, but we are two
separate women.
Dustbunnie, as I say, shares my history. Born and
raised on a small, tropical island far to the
south. Though I do not know the specifics of her
childhood or her life after leaving the island,
I can only assume that our lives ran similar
courses. Perhaps I have visited places she's yet
to see, perhaps vice versa. However, it is known
that she came to Ravensdale as well when she was
twenty-two. Again, she made many friends, none of
whom I dare mention. Though my memory is poor with
my own life, I've no idea who she might still
count amongst her friends and would rather not
venture a guess.
It is common knowledge that she was once in love
with a man by the name of Elton Last. Though he is
now long gone from Ravensdale and this shadow,
there are still several who remember him. I,
myself, was attached to the man as well at one
point…though not the same Last that she held in
her heart. He was a manipulator of Shadow, an
entrepreneur…a businessman of shady history. I
myself, the second dustbunnie, am a result of his
dealings with the other dustbunnie. However,
again, this is not the place for such stories,
I'll try my best to explain that history
elsewhere.
Dustbunnie stayed for many years here in
Ravensdale, occasionally venturing to Argo,
sometimes living in Havenport with Mr. Last. They
went through a lot from what I've heard. He died,
he returned (doesn't everyone here?), she found
other lovers… but she always returned to him. They
were
eventually married despite what they felt to be
fierce opposition. The marriage, however, lasted
longer even than mine (not a significant feat,
mind you) to the surprise of some,
the despair of others no doubt. Eventually,
however, it ended. It appears neither of us has
found a way to hold tight to our relationships. Ah
well, this isn't the place for sentimental
philosophizing, either.
I was not well acquainted with dustbunnie. She
couldn't stand me, to be honest, and I held no
real love for her either. There's a moral in there
somewhere, but I suspect I'd rather leave it
undiscovered. However, because I knew so little
of her, I'm not quite certain of what prompted her
to finally depart from Ravensdale. I do know that
she has been absent several months now, and I've
heard no news of her intentions to return. There
are rumors that she found herself to be barren,
that she suffered from guilt over the injury of a
loved one, that she was spurned by a lover, that
she simply sought new stomping grounds. Whatever
her reasons and as varied as they might be nothing
changes the fact that she is gone, leaving me the
only dustbunnie of Ravensdale. A fact I must admit
to being rather fond of.
