Title: Emily Shaw, Third Duchess of Clayburgh
Area: Characters
Bio Info:
Emily Shaw was born in Surrey on 19 April 1540 to
Lord Henry Shaw and Lady Elisabeth Strauss. Emily
was christened the Duchess of Clayburgh on her
fourth birthday and enjoyed the life of a
pampered princess. At the tender age of 16, Emily
was betrothed to Lord Jonathon Schneider of
Aldermaar, a man twelve years her senior. They
were married on 12 May 1547. Shortly after the
honeymoon, Emily's family was viciously murdered
on their lands. Emily managed to survive by
playing dead and she witnessed the death of her
husband, whom she had grown to love. Devastated,
she arrived at the Rivendell Tavern to find that
her husband was indeed alive. She approached him
and he told her that he, too, had pretended to
die in order to escape. Emily believed him and
they settled in Yorkshire. Not long after, Emily
became pregnant but lost the baby in the second
trimester. Subsequent attempts were futile and
Emily began to fall ill. She discovered that her
husband was slowly poisoning her with arsenic and
escaped the castle, but not without injury. She
returned to the tavern for help, bleeding to
death from a saber wound. Salvatore Donetti saved
her life and they became friends...then lovers.
Emily succumbed to his charm and became undead.
As things soured and Emily began to be repulsed
by her lifestyle, Salvatore decided to make her
human once more. He told her he never wished to
see her again and Emily set out for London and a
new life. Three hundred years had passed and
Emily had a hard time adjusting to her new life.
She met Sebastian De Marco and they married. On
his death two years later, Emily returns to the
tavern searching for the man she could never
forget...searching for Salvatore.
