Title: Captain Treasure MacDugan
Area: Characters

Bio Info:

Treasure MacDugan arrived in the Quays of Ravensdale some five years ago ((as of this writing 10/01/2000)) with her crew and ship called the Irish Star. Being a privateer... yes, a privateer... *W*... she was in the business of seeking out adventure for commissions rather than robbing other ships. However, if a prize were to be sought, she would get that prize by any means possible. She was only ever beaten once in finding an ancient relic and that's what brought Treasure to Ravensdale that bright sunny morning.

Hot on the trail of a sea elf that managed to slip the magical Golden Laso out from under her nose, she'd tracked him down to this very realm. Upon finding him and finding out the reasons for his actions, Treasure felt it best to let the incident pass.

She stayed in port a few days, shopping around for work for her ship when she met the Lord of the Ream, Smat. Immediately the two hit it off, and Captain MacDugan found herself under employment of the realm. Treasure and her crew also found a home in Ravensdale, something they had been searching for, for years.

Treasure herself, is half elven. Sea Elf to be exact. Her father's family were sea elves from a small city called Wing Hove. Her grandfather Niccio was the captain of the city's elite naval fleet, and her grandmother a practing mage of sorts, her powers being one of the greatest in their city, she was called upon many times to assist in dangerous situation to protect the populous. Treasure's father, Barrimus, was to follow in her grandfather's footsteps, a great captain by all standards, until one mission he met and fell in love with Treasure's human mother, Daniella. ((Daniella just so happened to be the sister of Michaela DeSeverin Paige's mother, thus Treasure and Micky are cousins))

Of course to Barrimus's people, this was an outrage, so they stripped him of all his worth in their city and made him, and his new wife an outcast. A few years later, Daniella became pregnant with Treasure, and the couple felt all was well with their new little family. Bar, however, constantly felt a presence watching them once Treasure was born. Little did the couple know, their child had an enormous amount of dormant magick, that which would match or could quite possibly exceed that of her paternal grandmother.

One night, Bar and Daniella's little farm was attacked but some sort of demon, or so the story goes. The demon raped and killed Daniella, and as Bar barely espcaped with his child and his life, he raced for Wing Hove, praying that his parents would have mercy on his child and take her in, because he had a feeling that he wasn't going to get to see his little girl grow up.

Bar arrived on his father's doorstep, banging on the door, mortally wonded from fighting off the demon. His mother, Wren, answered the door and immediately took the two in. She felt the demon's presence coming, she felt the power within her grandaughter and she figured out that the child was what the demon was after. Her heart breaking as she watched her only child die, she and Niccio promised to care for Treasure as if their own. However, Wren had to first ensure the child's safety, so she went out and defeated the demon, and then wove a spell around Treasure to hide her powers from any beings that would try and search her out. Only Wren knew of the potential that lied within her grandchild, and until the child was capable of fending for herself it would not be revealed to her, by Wren.

Treasure grew up following her grandfather around everywhere, she adored the man, to her, there was no one greater. At the age of 6 she stowed away on his ship to go with him on a mission. The craving of adventure running thick in her blood as well, Niccio realized that his grandaughter was a child of the sea, just as he was. Once he realized it, he trained Treasure on ever aspect of being a good captain to her crew and everything that had to do with ships. But, he knew that Treasure would never be accepted to Wing Hove's command, as much as he knew she was better than any other captain in their fleet, she was only half sea elf... and she was a woman to boot.

Treasure's realization of this came one fine day when she marched up to the King of the City and asked to be given a commison. Her hair pulled back in a braid, exposing her "not so pointed" ears, and all her other Half Elven features according to the King, she left the court, heart broken and feeling like an outcast. She went to Niccio and told him she was leaving Wing Hove, it was time for her to find her own way in life.

Of course being the hot headed person Niccio was (gee I wonder where Treasure gets it from *hehe*), he demanded that Treasure stay in Wing Hove, she was to marry and have a family. Wren, gently tried to get her grandaughter to stay, as she would not be able to protect her anymore. But neither could sway the minds of the young lass. Treasure knew that family, other than her grandparents, in Wing Hove was out of the question, she was an outcast, she was a "halfling" and even if she found an elf in Wing Hove, their children would still not be "whole" elves. She knew in her heart, Wing Hove was just a place to grow up, and somewhere out there, was her true home, as well as her soul mate.

Niccio, heartbroken at Treasure's leaving, lashed out in anger, telling her she'd never amount to anything more than a common pirate, and that anything she touched would turn failure. Tears streaming down Treasure's face hearing the cruel words coming from the man she adored and looked up to, left Wing Hove, in the only thing that Barimus left to his daughter, the Irish Star.

Many years, missions and adventures passed between then and Treasure's arrival in Ravensdale. She had grown to become a great and fair captain, and was sought after to take on missions and crew members anywhere she went. And amazingly enough, Wren's protective spell managed to stay in tact till she came to Ravensdale.

While in Ravensdale, treasure met another adventurer, Jackie Turner, with his sidekick Shark. Treasure, always a sucker for the "rougue", fell for him. But, he disappeared on one adventure, and when Treasure recieved word that he was dead *supposidly*, she knew it was time to move on, true love yet again, eluded her.

She then met Elrond, the two became fast friends, and soon fell in love. Together for quite a while, Treasure had thought she found the one man, and elf to boot, that finally understood her and loved her for who she was. Till one day, Elrond left and never came back. No explanations... but occasional appearances, leaving her the blue roses he always gave her. She held out hope that he would return, and he did, months later.

By this time, Treasure felt a presence, watching her... following her, and she couldn't place what it was and why it was so interested in her. Little did she know that Wren's protection had finally worn off, and since she was not told, she had no idea what and why things were going to happen. Upon Elrond's return, the two decided to take a romantic trip to an island, and it is there where Treasure encountered the Shadow wraith. Elrond managed to get Treasure back to the Irish star, but little did they know that the trouble would follow them back to Ravensdale.

One night Elrond came to Treasure and told her, they could be no more. Totally devestated, Treasure felt she had no reasons to go on in life. She paid her crew a month's salary and told them to take a vacation. She then sat on the ship by herself angry at the world... hurt by elrond.... she then knocked over a latern and the Irish Star started to burn. Then the appearance of Rimmer Dall, the shadow wraith. He was her 'savior', so he told her, offered her powers ulimited and beyond her imaginations.

Treasure, then became a slave to Rimmer Dall's every deed. He tried to rob from her, her sense of self, as he was only after her dormant magick. Treasure went insane (and quite evil and vindictive) from Dall's control... although she constantly was trying to keep her true self from disappearing, as Dall had bound her to her new ship... the "Ship of Souls".

Eventually, Elrond managed to save Treasure. He destroyed the Ship of Souls and also Rimmer Dall's connection to Treasure. Of course the Shadow Wraith did not like this at all. Treasure's powers were now her own, and she could be a match for even him.

Shipless, and recovering, Treasure took on the job of Harbor Master for Ravensdale. But not before going off and learning how to control her magicks. She went to an old friend Cogline, who taught her what she needed to know. Along the way she met Jacaro Zamere, another rogue who managed to catch her eye, but times and circumstances just seemed to be in the way.

Then one day while in the inn, she met Michel deLioncourt. This mysterous man (little did she know, he was a kindred, something she'd come to dispise), intrigued her .. he could read her very soul, her very heart .... she felt akin with him like she had never felt before in her life. Then she found out he was kindred... and even more secrets were abound. Heartache and torture seemed to wrack her heart, she knew without certainty that she found her soul mate, but it seemed that fate's twists and turns tore them apart. First promises made beyond her control ... by him.... then responsibilities. It seemed to be doomed. And of course Lord Dall just didn't disappear after she cut her connection with him.

But fate seemed to smile on Treasure this time, eventually it seemed to have worked out. Dall was defeated, and Michel was released from the responsiblities and promises he made.

So here we are ... present day Ravensdale. Treasure is a council member, Habor Master, and now captain of the new Irish Star, and quite deeply in love with Michel... and for once... truely happy.

More recently, Lord Smat has put Treasure (along with the help of Rimmer Silvershield) in charge of building a Navy for the Realm's protection. And Jacaro Zamere has resurfaced into Treasure's life, managing to become her first mate on the Irish Star.

So what hold out for our heroin... stay tuned to find out.
