Alexander Silvermane is a halfelf born out of
wedlock from a cruel human father (William) and an
Elven Woman. His father took Alex from his mother
as soon as he was weaned. As soon as Alex was able
to William made him work in the fields tending the
crops with William's slaves. William Hated Elves,
half elves in particular, he vented his rage and
hatred on Alex several times.
It was after one of these fits of rage and anger
that Alex turned and faced his father for the
first time in his life. William has beat Alex one
too many times and Alex had decided to run away
rather than receive the now daily beatings.
William caught him in the act and started beating
Alex for running. Alex was knocked to the ground
where his hand closed around a large rock. The
next thing Alex remembers is sitting on William's
chest pounding the rock in his head over and over.
Horrified Alex ran into the night in search of his
mother. Alex was all of twelve winter's old.
After many mishaps that he now calls adventures
he found his mother's village. To his dismay his
soon discovered that most Elves treated halfelves
as second class citizens. Alex was not allowed to
play or go to class with any of the other children
of the village. He was made to do all his lessons
alone with little to no help. The only things
Alex truly enjoyed at the village was the music
hall, where he spent most of his time, and his
mother's home, where he learned Elven song and
lore.
Alex was awaken one morning by the village
guard. Some one had dumped a three-week dead stag
into the well, fouling the well. All the evidence
pointed to Alex. The Elders had little choice but
to blame the
Half blood. Alex was banished form the village. He
left that night just three years after he had
found the village. Upon leaving his mother gave
him her silver flute and taught him the family
song. These things and the Silvermane name are
all that Alex kept from the village. At this time
Alex had seen sixteen winters.
Over the years Alex plied his trade wherever he
could but never stayed in one place very long. He
would learn new things as they were offered or
needed. Alex has become an accomplished musician
but will never admit it, he has the confidence to
play in front of large audiences but thinks they
are just being kind to him and his playing when he
receives compliments.
Over his travels he collected music and legends
from all over his world and a few worlds that was
not his own.
Alexander retired from the adventurer
lifestyle and settled down after he had seen 28
winters. This was the year he meet his beloved
Hannah, an Elven maiden, in the township of
Dunlap. They were married in secret due to his
halfelven heritage. At the time Alex was the head
of a rather successful merchant guild. A rival
guild master and Alex had had a major difference
of opinions on several occasions some of them
coming to blows between the two of them. The
morning after one of these arguments the rival
guild master was brutally murdered. The skin
ripped off his body, his heart ripped out of his
chest, then his body hung upside down in his home.
Alexander was accused, tried, found guilty, and
sentenced for the crime of murder. His punishment
was to lose everything he held dear. The first
thing they took from Alex was his beloved Hannah.
The ruling council took her life while Alex was
forced to watch chained to the floor. Heart broken
Alex escaped the township that night. All he took
was his adventuring gear and the music he had
collected over the years. On the way out of the
township he burned down his home.
Once again Alexander wandered the realms. This
time heart broken and dispirited. It was on this
wandering that he met Jamison Fox the woodsman.
They became friend and spend several weeks
together in the woods learning new lore from each
other. A rift was torn in their friendship due a
misunderstanding over a woman by the name of
Raven. Once again Alexander was on the move.
Unbeknown to Alexander, the township of Dunlap
thought Alex had not suffered enough for his
crime. They sent a bounty hunter out to bring him
back alive.
At the age of 31 Alexander found the town of
Ravens Dale and the Inn called Rivendale. Still
suffering from a broken heart and despair he came
in to the Inn just to hear another voice besides
his own. Before he knew he was singing for the
patrons of the Inn.
Alex found a surprise in Rivendale, a branch of
his family. Although he doesn't see them very
often he happy to know that there is family out in
the realms that openly welcome him.
It was not just family that Alex found in
Ravens Dale, but a love as well. After spending
several nights in the company of Inonna, otherwise
known as Nondescript he asked for her hand in
marriage. The wedding was a quiet little ceremony
with several friends attending. The marriage
proved to be as quiet and quick as the ceremony,
in under three months Alex was once again called
to council duty and vanished. His bride Inonna
Silvermane soon fell deeply in love with the god
of Mischief and Trickery, Loki.
In service of the council Alex was asked to be
a spy in infiltrate the opposing forces army and
send back information. In doing so Alex gained the
reputation of the most brutal commander on the
Imperial Southern Armies, his units were well
known for their brutality. And the captain of the
unit was a wild-eyed silver haired halfelf, the
only person that fit that description was
Alex.
When Alex did return to Ravens Dale, he had
been branded a traitor, the brand was magically
placed on him. Within the brand was a demon, a
very vengeful demon that wanted to do nothing but
do harm to Alex.. the first thing the demon did
was to make Alex injure his hands, just about
beyond repair. The second thing the demon did was
to try to sell Alex's soul to the Nasgul that Alex
banished several years before.
The battle
for Alexander's soul started with the demon and
the Nasgul, but was stopped by a
group of his friends. The Demon was banished
before he could barter with the
Nazgul for the bard's soul. In his banishment the
foul demon found himself in
the same realm that the Nazgul ruled.
It
took several months and the loss of a dear friend
before Alexander recovered
from those events. For a while he remained sulkish
about several things in his
life. During this time he was cursed with the
shape-shifting disease. It is
while afflicted with this that he met Katreana, a
woman from another realm
visiting Ravensdale. Well met isn't the exact
term, more like attacked is the
proper term. While under the influence of the
disease he falls victim to the
primal urges of mating and hunting.. Katreana was
competition to him.. so he was
going to either run her off or kill
her.
In the end it was neither, they discovered that they were kindred spirits, Katreana understood the nature of his disease and he understood her ways. They have become as close as either of them will let someone get to them, which is saying quite a bit considering the nature of the two of them.
Anymore at best Alexander is standoffish, and aloof, something is not right with him, there is an inner fire that is burning fiercely within him it is a fire that he cannot quench and he is not entirely sure if he wishes to quench it either. Due to this fire he is ageing faster than normal, evident now are worry lines about his eyes and his hair is now more white than silver.
